The Basic Grey Precision File Set

The Basic Grey Precision File Set– Simplifying personalized raw chipboard. Incorporating chipboard onto any scrapbook page is a great way to add dimension onto any page. What’s great about chipboard is that the size and options are endless, since chipboard can be used as alphabets, shapes, frames and more.Another thing that makes using chipboard so practical is that you can personalize is with your favorite paper or paint so that it matches your taste and design exactly the way you want it.

One of the challenges with using chipboard and paper is making the paper look like it’s an actual part of the chipboard. You don’t want it to look like you glued the paper and have messy or crooked edges on the final piece. One of the best answers to this problem is Basic Grey’s Precision File kit.. It’s affordable, nimble and really easy to use.The kit contains six files: 2 flat boards, a round file, a half-round, one square file and a knife file. The assorted sizes let you to go with the file that best fits into the little corners and grooves of the chipboard.

To start, choose your raw chipboard and paper that you want cover onto it.

Use a liquid glue (such as Zigs two-way glue) and cover the entire chipboard with the glue.
Place the paper over the chipboard and allow it to dry (following the glue manufacturer’s directions).Trim the excess paper at the edges of the chipboard.Try to follow the chipboard shape as closely as possible, keeping in mind that it’s o.k. to have a bit of overhang over the piece. You can use scissors or a knife to cut the paper, but we recommend a swivel knife. It allows you to cut around corners easier and more accurately than a pair of scissors or a regular X- acto knife can.

Next, use the files to shave the excess paper away. The round, half-round and square files are excellent for corners, such as the inside of a capital “A” or in the corners of the letter “k”.

To give the piece yet a different look, consider inking the edges. Each file in the Basic Grey Precision File set has a rubber comfort grip. They can also be used for distressing paper, paint and even photos.

Book Stand Gifts for Book Lovers

A book stand is a real convenience for any true book lover. Currently tendered types range from straight forward wire creations like the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at adjustable angles on just about any flat surface, to the infinitely more elaborate LEVO Bookholder that holds a book or other reading material in either a floor stand model or a clamp-on model that easily clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand designs work best with hard cover books, but they also can work very nicely with paperbacks when they are held by book holders like an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds compactly and is sold with it’s own convenient pouch punched for easy use in a three ring binder. It can be positioned on a counter top for cookbooks, or atop a desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page keepers extend out from the back plane to secure your book open, and, by adjusting how far apart the arms are, smaller and larger books may be easily accommodated. The back plane has horizontal pieces that may be raised or lowered to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.

The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted base on casters for easy movement just about anywhere. Wherever you choose to put it, it can support in virtually any position you can imagine. With a bookboard which can be moved in any plane, and coupled with book mounting straps that will securely hold your book, even in an inverted position, the LEVO allows for totally hand-free reading from just about any position.

The LEVO Clamp-on model is just as handy as its floor standing sibling, but incorporates a clamp that securely attaches to just about any table, desk, work bench, counter top or other flat surface up to 2 inches thick, and offers identical movements as the floor model, without the degree of telescoping movements vertically. By keeping your book up off the surface to which it is secured, the desk design saves the weight and expense of the weighted floor base while still freeing up work space, since your book doesn’t rest on the surface.

While there are other book stand designs now available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow designs have withstood the test of time and hold up well to long term use.

Poor Credit Credit Cards-What Are They?

Poor credit credit cards are just what they sound like. They are basically credit cards that some companies offer to people with poor credit. Does that amaze you? Well don’t let it because there are many factors to consider with these offers.

You can really classify poor credit credit cards into 2 categories. The first being a credit card that is secured. This means that you have to deposit a certain amount of cash to back the credit card up. You must however keep a close eye on the balance as you charge with this card so you won’t go into arrears with the card.

The credit limit on this type of poor credit credit card is calculated as a percentage of the balance you hold in the account you have with the supplier. This percentage could range from 50%-100% depending upon the company. So this bad credit credit card allows you to spend as much as you hold in that account. You enjoy the benefits of owning a credit card but the money was alredy yours to begin with.

The other poor credit credit card approach is that some companies offer you cards that have a very high interest rate attached and the limit starts out a low number. These are good cards to try and build your credit back with but you must be careful. The best way to do it is to purchase one thing a month and pay the balance off that month. Then don’t charge anything the rest of the month. When a new month comes up, charge something else and pay off the balance immediately. Do this for four or five months in a row and it will help you straighten out your bad credit.

This is some helpful advice when going after poor credit credit cards. Just remain disciplined and all will be ok.
